Not all jobs are pretty… but somebody’s gotta do it 😅

Past few days have been one of those full-on muck out days—the kind where you’re suited up head to toe, sweating like crazy, and questioning all your life choices halfway through!

Tyvek suits ✔️
Masks ✔️
Gloves ✔️
1000% humidity inside a house that’s seen better days ✔️

It’s hot. It’s dirty. It’s exhausting. But this is where the transformation starts. Before the pretty finishes… before the new cabinets and fresh paint… THIS is the part nobody sees. We get in there, we clean it out, and we make it safe again—one messy, sweaty, hard-earned step at a time.

And yeah… by the end of the day we look like we just ran a marathon in a sauna 🥵 But we wouldn’t trade it because this is what it takes to bring a home back to life after the flood.

Flood Bathroom Rebuild — Complete

This bathroom was fully rebuilt after flood damage from Hurricane Milton, and we also relocated the plumbing to make turning the water on and off easier and more accessible — a small change that makes a big difference for everyday use and future maintenance.

Every step was done with durability, function, and clean design in mind.

The homeowner is happy, and honestly… so are we. This is the kind of work we love doing.

Hurricane Milton Recovery - Our First Certificate of Completion

Scotis Construction is proud to share that we just received the Certificate of Completion on our first flooded home rebuild from Hurricane Milton. This marks not just a construction milestone, but a powerful step forward in the long road to recovery for one very special family.

From the day the waters receded, we’ve been with them every step of the way—through gutting, drying, rebuilding, and restoring not just their house, but a sense of home. What started as a job turned into a journey, and along the way, we’ve built more than walls—we’ve built a friendship.

Seeing this family return to their home this weekend, to familiar floors under their feet and memories still intact on every wall, is a moment we won’t forget. The storm may have taken everything they owned, but it did not take their spirit, their memories, or their will to rebuild.

We’re still mucking out homes and helping families rebuild after Hurricane Milton—and we’re not slowing down.

It’s been tough, dirty, emotional work. But in every flood-cut wall and every cleared-out room, there’s a little more hope shining through. Our customers are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel, and we’re honored to walk beside them every step of the way.
