Had the privilege to do a drywall patch and roof today!
I’m not really happy with how the texture came out for the drywall…not really my expertise but I tried.

For the roof repair, I misjudged how many shingles I was going to need. For 1 row, the roofing contractor decided the need to put a nail in 10 surrounding shingles. I brought 10 and that was exactly how many I needed for that part. Need to go back at a later time to replace 2 shingles where a satellite dish was.

Welp I suck. Didn’t take an after pics since I had to leave in a hurry to pick up my kids 🥲

Did the trim on 8 windows over the past few days/ 17 hrs ish. Coulda just did butt joints but went with rabbet joints instead. Went over it with some wood filler over the nail holes and then sealed the edges.

1x4 cedar boards were used for the trim 😊

Went out and replaced some shingles and repaired some ceiling drywall seams.

Replaced 5 shingles in different spots where the ridge was in the way and only single nailed. Made sure to double tap them, tucked new underlayment where the felt was torn/ripped (not by me), and sealed with roof cement.

After that, went inside and did the drywall.

First I want to thank Haley Contracting for coming through with helping me out with this project! I messed up my math on one stringer and had to give Jake a call 🤣.

Anywho, the old stringers definitely needed to be torn out due to all the rot underneath!
Added a 4th stringer and joist tape all the steps. Stringer hangers and blocking added, thru bolts around the posts that were missing structural screws 😲, as well as adding retrofit post bases on anything I couldn’t really move out of the way and post bases on what could. None of them were secured to the slab before today 🫠.
Definitely up to code now.

All in all this one beat me up 🥲 crowbar to the shin and slice the nailed on my thumb….but it got done!!!

Took on this leak repair that ended up not being the toilet but was condensation from the AC vent pipe. The house is empty and was set to 68* and constantly on. I adjusted the thermostat to 74* and on auto after I cut out the sections of drywall that needed replaced.
I’m not the best drywaller but I think I do decent.

Well…I suck at remembering to take pictures. Did a shingle repair this morning and then went and put some soffit back in place. Roof was a 11/12 so I had to use the pitch hopper to climb it. Anywho, tacked it down and nailed the facia back, also secured the facia a previous contractor put on and put sealant over the nails. I didn’t take an after pic 🫠🥲

Had something come up so had to go finish the stair repair today.
I think it turned out pretty nice 😊 stringers are lagged in and blocked at the rim board( was previously only toe nailed), butyl tape under each step, pvc on the landing, front posts anchored in, and replaced 5 other balusters that were warped.
Will come back in a few months to refinish the entire deck with a fresh coat of stain!

Almost done with this repair job. The old stringers were rotting, causing the steps to be unsecured and unsafe for the homeowner. Added a 4th stringer to bring it up to code compliance and all that’s left now is to put in all the balusters.
