There’s something special about watching a client’s vision take shape from the ground up.

This custom garage and wood shop—with a complete living space above—is coming together beautifully. The bold roofline, spacious layout, and carefully framed structure combine work, storage, and comfortable living into one purpose-built design.

Every detail is being built with precision and pride, because lasting quality begins long before the finishing touches go on.

Thinking about a custom garage with living quarters, workshop, home addition, or new build? Midwest Carpenters Group is ready to bring your vision to life.

Perfect timing. Perfect pour.

Today was one of those days where everything came together. We hit the perfect window between storms, got our foundation walls poured, set every 1/2” anchor bolt, and had everything covered before the rain ever became a problem.

No shortcuts. No excuses. Just planning, hard work, and getting it done right the first time.

Every project starts with a solid foundation, and that’s exactly what we deliver. If you’re looking for a contractor who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates, and treats your project like it’s their own, we’d love to earn your business.

Building Iowa one project at a time.

Rain doesn’t stop progress—it just separates the committed from the rest. 💪🌧️

A little water wasn’t about to throw us off schedule. Abe Bushong and I put in a 12-hour day yesterday to keep everything on track for our concrete pour this Friday.

That’s the level of commitment we bring to every project: planning ahead, working hard, and delivering when we say we will.

Now it’s on to the fun part—flatwork next week. Let’s build something great.

🔥 BIG TRANSFORMATION IN PROGRESS 🔥

What started as a plain concrete patio is turning into what might become the favorite spot on this entire property.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been building this massive covered outdoor living space from the ground up. Heavy timber posts, custom wood walls, tongue-and-groove ceilings, lighting, fans, TV locations, radiant heat, and plenty of room to entertain family and friends year-round.

The best part? This isn’t just a roof. It’s creating an entirely new area without adding onto the house.

Swipe through the photos and check out the progress so far. 👇

A few questions for everyone:

👉 Would you leave the wood natural or stain it a different color!?
👉 If this was your backyard, what’s the first thing you’d add? Outdoor kitchen? Bar? Fireplace? Big screen TV?
👉 Could you see yourself spending fall football Saturdays out here?

Projects like this are why we love what we do. Taking an idea and turning it into something that completely changes how a family uses their home.

Huge thank you to our awesome clients for trusting us with their vision. We can’t wait to show you the finished product.

This roof project has been an absolute blast so far. Beautiful property, great people, and a vision that’s coming to life exactly how it should.

At Midwest Carpenters Group, we don’t just build structures — we build spaces that make people stop and say “damn.” Precision, craftsmanship, and attention to every detail is what separates average from exceptional.

The best part? Our clients trust us to bring their ideas to life, and we take that seriously.

If you could build your dream outdoor space, what would it include?👇

Stay tuned… this one is going to turn heads when it’s finished. 🇺🇸🔥

The past week we’ve been out in Fontanelle, Iowa building this massive covered porch roof on an absolutely beautiful piece of property — and this one is going to be special.

Roughly 900 sq. ft. of outdoor space designed to be the ultimate hangout spot.

✔️ Tongue & groove ceiling throughout
✔️ In-wall TV setup
✔️ 6 can lights
✔️ Dual ceiling fans
✔️ 240V radiant heaters for cool Iowa nights

This is the kind of project we love building — clean craftsmanship, functional design, and a space families will actually use most of the year.

Even better? Our clients have been incredible to work with and truly appreciate the level of detail and care we put into every step of the process. That means everything to us.

We’ve still got a lot more coming on this build, so stay tuned for progress photos and the finished result. It’s going to turn out unreal.

🚀 Major upgrades in progress at Heaven Sent Homebirth in Adel, IA – we’re building the ultimate sanctuary for families choosing natural, empowered births! 💜
Our team is going ALL IN on structural reinforcement for the second-story floor to safely support birthing tubs filled with water + mama + support team. (We’re talking weight capacity equivalent to a full-size Honda Accord… or THREE! 😎)
Kicked off with careful demo to assess exactly what was needed, now we’re digging piers in the basement for rock-solid foundation support, then heading upstairs to sister in heavy-duty LVL beams that laugh at heavy loads.
This isn’t just construction – it’s a game-changer for Iowa families who want the serene, home-like vibe of our free-standing birth center with the option for luxurious water births upstairs. We’re the only spot like this in the state, and we’re making sure every detail is midwife-approved, safe, and built to last.
Couples dreaming of a peaceful, holistic birth experience with all the bells & whistles (including that deep, relaxing tub)? This is why you choose Heaven Sent. Spots are filling up – DM or call to lock in your consultation and join the families already trusting us with their sacred moments!
