“snap” is an ongoing, interactive, community photography project, designed in conjunction with the Picturing Waterville exhibition at Common Street Arts, on view from May 24 through July 1, 2017. Common Street Arts invites community members to submit snapshots of Waterville that

capture a personal and meaningful connection for the viewer—whether a landscape, building, streetscape, landmark, or other setting within Waterville. These images will be shared with the community through social media and on a dedicated wall within the Picturing Waterville exhibition. Common Street Arts will host a “snap” page to share submissions and create a continuous dialogue between participants, the exhibition, and Waterville community. The goal of this interactive project is to highlight a broad range of visual perspectives while honoring the unique perspective that each member of the community brings to our shared and changing environment. As Waterville experiences many changes to its landscape, “snap” offers a unique opportunity for community members to document their personal experiences alongside the revitalization currently taking place within the city. “snap” will document and highlight these perspectives and present them together as a community reflecting upon itself as it experiences the many changes to its built environment. Photos can be submitted by people of all ages; prior experience is not required. Participants can use their cell phones, snapchat, instagram, etc. or digital/film cameras to submit their images. Digital images can be submitted electronically to [email protected] or printed images can be delivered directly to Common Street Arts during regular gallery hours (Wednesday-Friday 12-5:00 p.m.; Saturday 12-2:00 p.m.) All submissions will become the property of Waterville Creates! and are not able to be returned.

Check out these pictures from last year's Waterville Rocks! concerts! Excited? The Pete Kilpatrick Band and Armies will be performing this Friday from 5:30-8:00 in Castonguay Square (or in the Waterville Opera House, depending on the rain!)--so bring yourself, ready to relax and have fun, and be sure to take some pictures to send over to Snap!
