Design for a new project.
Or maybe we should say old project…The original cabin nicknamed “More or Less,” was originally built between 1790-1820.
It’s part of the Lord Fairfax “Northern Neck Proprietary.” Fairfax leased land on the 5 million acre tract with the stipulation that farmers were required “to build a cabin with a stone chimney and plant 100 fruit trees.” This is one of those original cabins.
This part of Shenandoah is well known for its springs. In many cases for these farms the spring came first, and everything else— house, barn, lanes, fields—were arranged around it.”
To keep this spirit alive we’re designing a “barn” addition and detached spring-fed sauna cabin in the back of the old cabin.
