This unprecedented growth is helping to create thousands of American jobs, save money for U.S. When it comes to preparing for America’s future, clean, dependable and affordable solar energy has become the “Little Engine That Could,” defying expectations and powering economic growth – and, frankly, we’re just scratching the surface of our industry’s enormous potential. Today, solar is one of the fastest-growing industries in America, employing 209,000 workers and generating an estimated 31.6 gigawatts (GW) of clean electricity – enough to effectively power 6.2 million homes.
