A personal project - With a bit of elbow grease and some planning, I was able to transform my own kitchen into something that better suited my lifestyle (entertaining in the kitchen), whilst not breaking the piggy bank... Now onto the basement renovation.

A newly purchased 6500sf beach house along the coast of Massachusetts is in need of some major updates. These include a complete opening up of all interior spaces, addition of a second stair to the guest suites, an indoor regulation-sized lap pool opening out to the ocean via nanawall or similar, a 2-car garage extension, better connection between garage / 'main house', all new windows with hurricane-rated glazing, regulating dormers to have a consistent language and all new interior layouts to provide cross breeze to every room.

latest project in development - a beachfront 'cottage' in Plymouth, MA... existing 6000sf home does not include indoor pool nor open-space planning... so the design will aim to open up the interior space to create more communication between wings, as well as incorporating an 80'L indoor pool within the existing garage while extending the garage to accommodate for 2-car parking. Schematics attached.

Yay another project with photographic proof of start and completion

To really use this expansive basement for purposes other than just storage, these New Jersey homeowners called on dRemodeling to help carve out spaces for the variety of activities they would like to use it for. The goal was to create a media and game room, with a full kitchenette and seating area, as well as include a space for their home office and fitness equipment, all the while maintaining adequate storage space.

The renovations started by opening up the stairwell with carved rails and banisters that complimented the transitional over tones in the kitchen cabinetry. The kitchenette features wood laminate flooring, a glass mosaic backsplash, and a custom kitchenette. Entertaining is a breeze with a new sink and mini fridge installed into the granite countertop, and with adjacent seating for four. The room opens up into the game and media room, where a TV is mounted over a newly installed electric built-in fireplace and bookcase. Tucked into the corner, the office compliments the cabinetry in the kitchen, and lends an extra space for the homeowners to craft and work.

Around the other side of the stairwell, the fitness room is entered by a glass door off the main stairwell. The wood laminate flooring extends into the space, keeping it open and modern. The main storage area is located right off of this room, and is capable of storing a multitude of the family's items, from pantry items to luggage and winter coats.

A family was ready to move from their Upper Darby home into a suburb of Radnor Township, and settled on this ranch that is deceivingly small. With a footprint of over 3000sf, they wanted the front and rear to feel more prominent without the expense of a 2nd storey, as well as re-configuring the interior hallways and bedrooms for their specific family needs
