Red Star Coffee in Moscow has moved to their new location! The new place features 2 drive-thru windows with plenty of safe queue space and a pedestrian window at the north end.
Kelly, Zach, Sara and the Sprenger construction team were wonderful to work with during design, and it has been exciting to watch the building take shape on Line Street, across from the University Rec Center.
The Red Star Coffee team's commitment to customer service and this community runs deep, and I really enjoyed learning from their perspective as we planned the work flow in this new space. (3D renderings courtesy of Savana Paul)

Adding living quarters onto an existing shop with no windows, it was especially important to celebrate the view and provide outdoor living space for these clients. Wonderful to see it taking shape!
Also from this site visit, a plumber's pile that I can only hope makes their job more fun, like a game of I Spy. :)

Angie came to me with a heart of gold, a kitchen of orange, and a dream of having a welcoming, functional and updated space without tossing existing pieces that still had life in them.
Interior designer Lorena and I worked with Angie to understand her workflow, inventory her eclectic collection of dishes, art and furnishings, listen to what was or was not working for her and Bill in their home, then give our recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed the process, felt the bumps through the winter construction, and celebrated the transformation with her in the new space last week. Now, I get to share it with all of you!

Construction is complete on S&L Rentals' mixed use building in Colfax with office space and commercial garages. An envelope of SIPs and radiant floor heat will keep occupants comfortable while they enjoy the lofty ceilings on Starwood Rafters' Lam-Ply trusses .

It is building permit release day for Pivo Peaks Alehouse! This historic building in downtown Sandpoint was originally constructed in 1900 and is now getting shored up and spruced up for its new purpose. The design process was intriguing and rewarding - discovering the beauties and quirks of the building, and working through them with Brent and Aaron at BC Engineers and clients Joey and Sara Bowden. As I reflect on the first year of operating Ripple Ridge Designs, I am deeply appreciative of the exceptional clients who have entrusted me with meeting their needs and visions, as well as the design professionals and contractors who have collaborated effectively to bring these projects to fruition.
I have enjoyed various challenges and learning opportunities through a diverse range of projects. These include a veterinary clinic addition, a fitness center, an after-school activity space, various residential projects (new build, addition, kitchen remodel), a shop/event space, commercial garages, non-profit organization office, an Alzheimer's care facility, a coffee stand, an alehouse, a vocational shop/classroom, code analyses and conditional use permit support. The more tangible construction phase is underway for several clients, and I will start to share images with their permission as the projects take shape.
