Some panels tell you a story the second you open them. 😅

We weren’t given much background on this one, but the photo speaks for itself.
There’s a lot happening inside and around this panel, including plenty of wiring and visible signs of age.

This is why actually looking at the electrical system matters. You never really know what years of additions and changes have left behind until you get inside.

What’s the first thing your eyes went to? 👀⚡

Today’s episode of “please don’t do this.” 😅

We found this ground rod with a piece of rope attached where a proper grounding connection should be.

Grounding is an important part of an electrical system’s safety. This is not the place to get creative with whatever happens to be lying around.

Sometimes our job starts with fixing the work that should never have been done in the first place. ⚡

And yes, we took a picture. This one deserved to be documented. 😂

Alright electricians, your turn. 👇

Before you say anything, yes, this is a WORK IN PROGRESS. 😂

Now take a good look at the panel.

If this were your job, how would you organize and dress all these wires?

Everyone seems to develop their own method over the years, so we’re curious to see how other electricians would tackle this one.

Tell us what you’d do.

Then we’ll come back with the finished panel and show you how we handled it. ⚡

Okay, this thing is pretty cool. 😎💡

At first glance, it looks like a modern LED ceiling light.

Then you notice the blades spinning inside it.

This fixture combines a ceiling fan and LED lighting into one compact design, so you get airflow and plenty of light without a traditional fan hanging down into the room.

We install plenty of panels, services, outlets and wiring, but every once in a while we get something like this that makes us stop and say, “Alright… I want one too.” 😂

What do you think? Cool or too futuristic?

The gas station is officially losing another customer. 😂⚡

We just wrapped up another Tesla Wall Connector installation.

One of the biggest conveniences of owning an EV is being able to handle the charging right where the car spends most of its downtime anyway.

Come home. Plug in. Go inside.

Simple.

And when we install an EV charger, we also pay attention to how the finished job looks on the property. This one got a clean exterior installation with the conduit neatly routed along the house.

Now the only thing left to remember is plugging it in. 🔌

🍝 Another serving from The Spaghetti Series.

And this one came with extra noodles. 😂

The second photo shows exactly how we found this electrical panel when we arrived.

From there, we completed a residential 200 amp electrical service upgrade and gave this system some much needed organization along the way.

The difference isn’t only cosmetic. When electrical equipment is organized properly, future troubleshooting and service become a whole lot easier.

Photo 1 is where we are now.

Photo 2 is where we started.

We’ll take the first one, thanks. ⚡

Today’s office comes with a lift and a pretty recognizable sign. 😂💡

We’re working on a commercial sign lighting repair, getting inside the existing channel letters to troubleshoot the lighting and replace the components that are no longer doing their job.

It might look simple from the parking lot, but every illuminated letter has electrical components behind it that need to work together to keep the sign looking right.

Especially for a business, a partially dark sign isn’t exactly the first impression you want after sunset.

We’ll share the finished look once everything is back together.

And yes, you can still guess the brand. 👀

Some electrical work is meant to disappear. This one is meant to show off a little. 😏💡

We installed exterior soffit lighting throughout this home along with a smart switching system for convenient control.

The fixtures stay discreet during the day, then completely change the look of the property once evening hits.

Good exterior lighting isn’t about making everything as bright as possible. It’s about putting light in the right places.

And judging by this view, we’d say the house understood the assignment. ✨

The electrical version of “we’re gonna need a bigger boat.” 😂⚡

As homes add more equipment, the electrical demand can grow right along with them.

This property received a 320 amp electric service upgrade, giving it substantially more capacity for current and future electrical needs.

Most homeowners only ever see the meter and the closed equipment.

We thought we’d show you the part electricians actually like looking at. 👀

Clean connections. Thoughtful routing. Plenty of power.

Sometimes an electrical upgrade isn’t about what you need today. It’s about making sure the house is ready for what you want tomorrow.

If this picture makes perfect sense to you, you might be an electrician. 😂

If it doesn’t, that’s okay. That’s why the labels matter.

There are a lot of circuits living inside these panels, and knowing what each one controls makes future service and troubleshooting a whole lot easier.

Nobody wants to start flipping breakers and yelling across the house:

“DID THAT TURN IT OFF?”
“NO.”
“HOW ABOUT NOW?”
“NO.” 😂

Good electrical work should make life easier for the next person who has to work on it too.
