I've cut a few lisianthus! Planning on being at Kechi Farmers market on Thursday, with mixed bouquets of snaps, statice, Campanula...and a few lisi's!

Awww, my heart is full tonight! I received "opening night" flowers, AND Bloomerang Floral and Gifts created this adorable picnic basket for Kechi Playhouse season opening production of "Picnic".!♥️

Yep , trying a little something out of my comfort zone.,... I don't think this will become a new habit, as I'm much more at home in the garden! But I'm going to soak in all the warm fuzzies tonight 😁♥️😘

I'm enjoying retirement from the Saturday market! 😁 I'm moonlighting this week at Bloomerang Floral and Gifts in Kechi. Have cut and sold a few peonies, allium, but still waiting for the first spring planted snapdragon to bloom. Yes, lisianthus is growing nicely, but it won't bloom until late June....
I hope to continue with florist sales, and attendance at Kechi Farmers market which starts in June. The month of May has 2 major "flower holidays"...Mother's day and Memorial Day. I know some of you have made my local flowers part of your tradition, and I appreciate that so much!♥️ It is going to be bittersweet this year for me too!
In the meantime, I'm enjoying making arrangements at Bloomerang (like this one) and really enjoying sleeping past 430am on Saturdays!! Wishing you (and your mom's) a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! 😘

Well.....I "retired" from the Kansas Grown Farmers Market last night!
After 32 seasons of hauling the weeks harvest to my stall at the Seg Co Extension office parking lot (and those first few years at Towne West) I am looking forward to having more free Saturdays!
Yes, I'm still growing flowers! I still plan on a few Kechi markets on Thursdays, and taking buckets of flowers to florists too! Maybe even doing a few more weddings, but there will be a definite change in the game plan around here! That's what you're supposed to do when you retire, correct? 😂
You will still see me on Saturdays, but as a shopper instead of a vendor!!! I will continue to post here the places my flowers will pop up. ( I have 1800+ lisianthus plants ready to go in the ground!)
Thanks for your love, support and friendship over the decades...it's been a fantastic "stay at home mom career", but we are looking forward to a different kind of focus and change of pace! ♥️

Yes, registration for the December 3rd, Christmas Swag workshop is open! The Kechi Arts Council's most popular "Make it, Take it" class always fills up quickly, and is limited to 30 participants. Cost is $40, payable at the Kechi City Hall, 220 W Kechi Rd. (61st St. N) 316-744-9287. Cash, check, or card (a small service fee on card charges) holds your spot. All you need to bring is a pair of garden clippers, and if desired, a pair of vinyl gloves to protect your hands from the sticky sap! Everything else provided! Light refreshments! Join us and get "Your Christmas Swag" on!!

Market schedule for this week...I'm not going to be a vendor at Kechi on Thursday, 9-21, Thursday afternoon. (Unforseen schedule change)
Saturday, 9-23 we will have a small stall at Ridge and 21st 7am - noon.
Flowers are slowing, but will have lovely sunflowers from Sheila's Garden Market by the stem, as well as our mixed bouquets. Woohoo!! 🍁🍂🍁

Yes, it's State Fair (first weekend), so a smaller set up for us on Saturday, but same location!
If you're going to the State Fair on Saturday, but need your flowers, come see us this afternoon in Kechi!!

Too hot for afternoon Kechi market for flowers! But a great place to find produce(Best melons!) Chicken, grass fed beef, eggs, jams & jellies among other things! We are working towards Saturday market, with lisianthus, sunflowers, celosia, zinnias, etc! See you Saturday at Ridge and 21st, 7am to noon 😁♥️💐

Another hot Thursday.....when it's over 95 degrees, it's too warm for flowers in the late afternoon. But I love this market, and the vendors are incredible! If your looking for a great watermelon, this is the place to go! Flying Toad Farms has consistently had the best melons I've tasted for the last couple years 😁 I'm going shopping today!!♥️♥️♥️

Thank you, Wichita! We had a fantastic market day last weekend! Taking this weekend off, and will be back on July 15th😊 Loving this cooler weather, and catching up on garden maintenance! A lot less sweat involved 💐
