A hurricane leaves a lot of decisions in its wake. We've pulled together the 10 most common mistakes homeowners make after a storm damages their pool enclosure, screen room, or patio cover, from safety and cleanup to hiring a contractor and rebuilding it right. Start here, and follow the links to each full post. Full guide in the comments.

Need someone to take a look? We're working with homeowners across Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and Bay counties as they recover from Isaias. Call us at 850-308-1832.

If your pool enclosure or patio cover came through Isaias bent but still standing, please don't climb on it, push it back into place, or cut it loose yourself. A bent frame can hold a lot of stored tension and can shift or drop without warning, and a downed power line touching it can make the whole frame dangerous. Our new post explains why, and what to do instead. Full post in the comments. Call us at 850-308-1832

Debris pickup starts this week across much of the area, and Bay County is taking storm debris free at the landfill through Sunday. Before your damaged pool enclosure or patio cover goes to the curb, take a few minutes to photograph it from every side and up close. Once it's hauled away, so is the best record of what happened. Our new post covers what to document, what to protect, and what can wait. Link below. 850-308-1832

Every storm brings two. The first is the wind. The second comes during the rebuild, when out-of-town crews arrive looking for quick jobs and are gone before the first warranty call.

When it’s time to rebuild your pool enclosure, choose someone who’ll still be here. Aluminum Building Systems has built pool enclosures across Northwest Florida since 1996. Every one is site-engineered and stamped to your property’s wind zone, then permitted and inspected to Florida Building Code.

Hurricane Isaias hit our community hard. If your pool enclosure or screen room took damage, take care of your family and your home first. Your enclosure will wait.

When you’re ready, here’s what matters most:
• Stay clear of any framing that’s bent, leaning, or pulling away from its anchors.
• Photograph everything before cleanup: wide shots and close-ups.
• Before you hire anyone, verify their license at myfloridalicense.com.
• One request with photos holds your place. No need to call repeatedly.

We put everything in one guide, including how we’re prioritizing repairs and what we can and can’t do with insurance:

We live here too, and we’ll be here after the cleanup.

In our latest guide, we break down:

-What your neighborhood's ARB rules mean for your backyard
-Why being close to Choctawhatchee Bay makes screening worth it
-How going direct with ABS instead of through your builder can save you around 25%

New to Latitude Margaritaville Watersound? 🌴

A screened pool enclosure is one of the first upgrades new residents make, and it's easy to see why. It keeps out the no-see-ums at sunset, keeps leaves and pollen out of the pool, and gives you shade from the Panhandle sun.

We just finished this enclosure right in the neighborhood, built to match the community's architectural standards and engineered to Florida Building Code.

Our new neighborhood guide covers what Watersound homeowners should know before they build: HOA approval, frame finishes, and why going direct instead of through your builder can save around 25%.
