As spring conferences get underway, we’ve noticed that sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t the panels themselves, but the conversations that come after.

Assistant Project Manager Heather Miller recently served as a panelist for the inaugural Central District: 2026 Women in Construction Summit in Yakima, hosted by AGC of Washington at YV-Tech. In addition to sharing her experiences in construction, Heather appreciated the questions from young women starting their careers in the industry.

“Getting to interact with students looking to enter the workforce was wonderful. I spoke to one young lady in the second year of her construction program who asked what she should look for in an internship.

It’s refreshing to see the opportunities young women have in construction now, compared to when I started. She was so passionate and excited about her future.

The positivity in the room was also amazing. It was so easy to engage and meet people on a meaningful, easy level.”

We’re proud to have team members like Heather representing Korsmo and inspiring the next generation of builders.

April marks the start of a busy delivery season, beginning with Squaxin Island Tribe’s Little Creek Administration Building.

Located at Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, WA, this beautiful 20,000-square-foot, five-story building integrates directly with the hotel tower. A centralized operations hub will now help support the Tribe’s continued growth and success.

Our annual Women’s Luncheon is one of our favorite traditions, and 2026 was something special.

We were honored to welcome Carol C. Mitchell, Tacoma Peace Prize laureate, as our keynote speaker. In addition to Korsmo site and office personnel, attendees included Senator T'wina Nobles, representatives from Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland’s office, community members, and our friends from Red Hawk Fire Protection LLC.

A special thank you to Wanda Thompson and the Tacoma City Association of Colored Women’s Clubs for the space, and to the Puyallup School District Puyallup High School CTE culinary and arts program for the incredible catering.

Thank you to everyone who made this day what it was. Strong teams are truly built on strong relationships.

Congratulations to Korsmo superintendent Alan McDaniel on earning his DBIA® (Design-Build Professional®) credential!

The DBIA® is a nationally recognized certification in design-build project delivery. Credentialing requires intensive coursework in collaboration, contracts, risk management, and procurement, as well as passing a comprehensive exam.

We love watching our team members grow professionally, and Alan's dedication demonstrates Korsmo’s commitment to delivering for our clients.

Big news from Tulalip!

Quil Crossing Apartments is nearing completion.

Korsmo Construction is nearing completion of 84 affordable apartment homes for the Tulalip Tribes. Complete with walking trails, a basketball court, gathering spaces, and a garden area, Quil Crossing Apartments features tribal artwork and well-considered design choices made with families in mind.

Seeing this project built from the ground up has been one of the highlights of our year. We are proud to partner with Rice Fergus Miller Architecture and Planning, Wenaha Group, and the entire project team to expand affordable housing options for the Tulalip Tribes community.
