Do you have a nice place to escape to for quiet contemplation or a good read?

The English Landscape Gardener used 2'x2' slate and Staffordshire blue brick to create this serene hideaway at the bottom of a client's garden.

The wide steps leading to the sunken patio on both sides were built to the client's specification and integrated with the retaining wall which was rebuilt out of the old concrete step stones that we dug out of the slope.

It doesn't take much to add character, curb appeal, and value to your home.

This client on Signal Mountain had a concrete path leading to their front door and wanted a more attractive and welcoming approach. They chose this Natural Paving classic dimensional stone in Harvest. We think it complements the wooden front door beautifully.

Have you ever tried to mow or garden on a slope? It can be tricky and strenuous, not to mention dangerous.

Our clients at this North Shore property wanted more practical planting space that was easier to work on than this slope in the front of their home.

The solution, of course, was terraced beds. Terraced beds can:

● Eliminate having to mow, plant, or w**d steep embankments.

● Increase the amount of accessible land on your property.

● Reduce erosion.

● Increase the value and attractiveness of your property.

We installed retaining walls to create terraced beds using ACME Block & Brick 's Gravity Block in Ash, with accent detail in Copthorne Burgundy. We also installed a stone overlay on the existing steps.

We completed this job in November 2025. We cannot wait to revisit this site to see how the beds look planted-up. Don't forget to like and follow to see more after photos.

It's Throwback Thursday. We're taking the Wayback Machine* to 2015!

Our clients wanted to spruce up their 8-acre property in Harrison Bay before putting it on the market. So we removed the brick cladding and replaced it with a stack stone** veneer more in harmony with the rustic woodland setting.

We also replanted the beds and laid sod in front of the house to provide a more welcoming approach. Transformations like this can significantly improve the re-sale value of your home.
