🎾 Game, set, match — Hatfield Rally House is complete!
We're proud to have served as general contractor on Rally House in Hatfield, MA — a state-of-the-art indoor tennis and pickleball facility designed by our friends at Bonham & Douglas Architects
This one was special. Beyond USTA tournament-approved courts, the facility features a café with big-screen TVs, a spectator mezzanine, a kids' nook, a pro shop, and an outdoor pavilion — a true community hub for players and families alike.
And here's the stat we're most proud of: when the building was sealed up, the blower door test came back ten times tighter than code requirements — exceeding passive house standards. That's craftsmanship you can measure. 💪

From bringing in permanent power to connecting water, the Five Star team is heads-down and on schedule. And if you look just beyond Phase One, selective demolition has already begun on the historic church building as we prepare to launch Phase Two.

Drone up, sun out, crew locked in. 🚁
Here's the latest progress at 111 Hawley Street in Northampton — 8 new townhouses, 3 buildings, all rising fast now that spring has arrived.
Building 1 is sheathed and under roof. Building 2's foundation is in. Building 3 is right behind it. The team has put in serious work through a tough New England winter, and it's a great feeling to watch it all come together against that beautiful downtown Northampton skyline.
Proud of this crew. Proud of this project. Proud to be building right here in our backyard.

🏠 Mass. Housing Crisis: Could Vacant Church Land Be the Answer?🙏

We just read this spot-on article from MassLive about how faith-based organizations across Massachusetts own over 4,850 vacant parcels — and if even half were developed for housing, we could create **500,000 new homes** and $60 million in annual tax revenue!

The proposed YIGBY bill (“Yes In God’s Backyard”) would make it easier for churches and religious groups to build multifamily housing on their own land, bypassing some local zoning hurdles while requiring 20% affordable units. It’s a win-win for the housing crisis AND the community.

And guess what?
We’re already doing exactly that right here in Easthampton!

Riverview Place – Phase 1 is transforming the former Notre Dame du Bon Conseil Church campus at 35 Pleasant Street into a beautiful new townhouse-style condo development. Our Phase 2 is the Church. The historic church building is being preserved and renovated into 9 residential units, while new construction adds modern 2- and 3-bedroom homes with first-floor masters — all steps from downtown, the park, and the river.

Phase 1 is underway with **10 stunning new units** (4 × 2-BR, 4 × 3-BR, and 2 × 3-BR with first-floor masters), and we couldn’t be more proud to turn sacred ground into much-needed housing while honoring the church’s legacy.
