✅ BEAT THE HEAT🔥: HVAC TIPS FOR HEAT WAVES:

- Set it and forget it. Choose a reasonable/comfortable temperature to set your thermostat at (preferably in the early morning) and keep it there during the heat wave. Constantly changing the thermostat doesn't cool your home faster.

- Don't set the thermostat extremely low. Setting it to 65°F or lower won't make your home cool any faster. It only forces your system to run continuously and, under certain conditions, can contribute to the evaporator coil freezing, especially if airflow is restricted. This results in no A/C.

- Replace or clean your air filter. A dirty filter reduces airflow, making your A/C work harder and increasing the risk of performance issues.

- Keep vents open and unobstructed. Don't close supply vents or block them with furniture, rugs, or curtains.

- Keep the outdoor condenser clear. Remove leaves, grass clippings, and debris, and maintain at least 2 feet of clearance around the unit for proper airflow.

- Close blinds and curtains. Blocking direct sunlight, especially on south and west facing windows, helps reduce the cooling load.

- Limit heat-producing activities. Avoid using the oven, dryer, or other heat-generating appliances during the hottest part of the day when possible.
