For the last 6+ years or so (maybe longer), we have trusted our business with Coy Giles and Giles Outdoor Power Equipment. Throughout that time, we have trusted Coy and his team purchasing new equipment or discussing repairs and today’s service is no different! Same as Day 1!

Coy and his team are the epitome of what every outdoor power equipment dealer should strive to be! We had our Leaf Eaterz, LLC leaf vac trailer in for some work and Raymond got everything going strong again w/a quick turnaround!

Turning our compost pile! Coming along nicely! During this stage, it’s extremely hot as it continues to breakdown. When turning these piles with our tractor you can feel the heat coming off the pile! Following this, we will add more red wigglers to it. Once this compost is ready, it will be cool to the touch. 🧊.

That’s what makes our 100% organic compost so great! It takes a lot longer this way, but it’s worth it when ready! ♻️

How does watering impact the health of your lawn?

Water is essential for turfgrass survival. During periods of consistent rainfall, supplemental irrigation is often unnecessary and can typically be reduced or turned off. However, during drought conditions or extended dry periods, turfgrass relies heavily on irrigation to remain healthy and viable. Without adequate water, grass may die off and fail to recover. As turf thins and bare soil is exposed, w**d pressure increases significantly due to reduced competition.

So how much water does your lawn actually need?

The University of Georgia recommends approximately 1 inch of water per application for most turfgrass systems. For typical rotary sprinkler heads, this usually equates to about 45 minutes of run time, while stationary pop-up spray heads generally require around 20 minutes. These estimates can vary depending on system design, pressure, and coverage efficiency, so adjustments may be necessary based on your specific irrigation setup.

For most established lawns, watering should be done once during the early morning hours, when evaporation is lowest and turf can efficiently absorb moisture. Newly installed sod may require more frequent irrigation during the establishment period. Overall watering frequency should be adjusted based on temperature, humidity, and recent rainfall.

🌱 Remember when your lawn service gives you their pricing, you’re not only paying for a service, you’re paying for quality, reliability and folks that take pride in their work!

We see this a lot, as I’m sure many of our lawn company friends do! This was a property we serviced across the street from yesterday. We’ve seen this company on this property while servicing on multiple occasions.

💴 This is the difference between a $40 (or cheaper service) vs. a legitimate company. Blowing clippings onto the road, no edging and w**deating is poor. Just remember the difference in services next time you’re shopping for a lawn maintenance crew and the price is higher than the $40 guy. Have a great weekend fam and stay dry!
