There’s something surreal about seeing your own business from 3,000 feet in the air.
Last night Morgan Smith from Five Star Painting of Findlay & Perrysburg sent us this photo taken by his son while flying over the area. His son worked with us during Christmas light season and now he’s literally spotting Light Up Lima from the sky.
Most people see the finished lighting projects, but behind that is a small team, long days, late nights, trucks loaded with materials, and a warehouse packed wall to wall with Christmas lights.
This photo was a cool reminder that what we’re building is becoming something real and lasting. We’re incredibly thankful for everyone who has supported us, hired us, referred us, or even just followed along.
And yes… apparently you can spot Light Up Lima from the air now.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been working on more than just lighting projects.

Behind the scenes we’ve been redesigning our website, building better systems, improving our client experience, and continuing to refine what Light Up Lima looks like moving into the future.

Lighting isnt about brightness. There are only 10 fixtures on the front of this house each at about 40% brightness. The result is a softly lit home that feels welcoming. When we design lighting we want you to feel welcomed every time you return day or night.

This is a project we recently completed using Permanent Lighting and we’re thrilled with how it came out.
One of the things we love most about permanent lighting is that it can look clean and elegant for everyday use while still giving homeowners the ability to completely change the look for holidays, events, and special occasions.

The first photo shows the home with no lighting installed, followed by green for Mental Health Awareness Month, and then a Red, White & Blue scene to show some of the flexibility these systems offer.

Sometimes installing bistro lights takes more hands than we have… so for now, apparently a mouth works too. Not exactly the most professional method, but whatever gets the job done.
Bistro lighting is one of those upgrades that completely changes how a space feels. A deck or patio that gets ignored after dark suddenly becomes a place people actually want to sit, relax, and spend time.
This project took some creativity, some ladders, and apparently a few extra teeth, but the finished result was absolutely worth it. The nighttime view says it all.
