ICYMI: Over the next few weeks, we would like you to "Meet our Members." Last week we started with our first member, Wilson Capital! Today, we are going to highlight Tervo Masonry.
Tervo Masonry is a testament to three generations of dedication to the craft. It all began with George Tervo, a first-generation builder who honed his skills as a carpenter and superintendent on numerous projects in New Castle and surrounding areas. His son, Jim, followed in his footsteps, working as an estimator for O'Neil Masonry in West Middlesex, PA. Their combined experience laid the foundation for Tervo Construction, established in 1985. Starting as a general contracting company specializing in residential and commercial construction, the company evolved in the early 90s, refocusing solely on masonry under George's retirement. By the late 90s, Aaron Tervo, Jim's son, joined the family business as a summer laborer, later transitioning to full-time estimator and project manager in 2001. In 2006, following his fathers passing, Aaron established Tervo Masonry, LLC, relocating the company to New Wilmington shortly after.
Today, Tervo Masonry stands as a leading force in commercial, industrial, and institutional masonry across Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Their motto,
"There's pretty much nothing we haven't done when it comes to masonry" truly reflects their extensive experience working with diverse materials like limestone, marble, granite, brick, block, natural and manufactured stone, and even cutting-edge options like aluminum-honeycomb-backed thin stone. They go beyond construction, offering comprehensive brick and stone restoration, caulking, sealants, and fluid-applied v***r barrier services, solidifying their position as a one-stop shop for all masonry needs. Their team boasts some of the industry's most skilled union journeymen bricklayers, many with decades of experience, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship on every project.
Tervo Masonry's commitment to excellence has fueled rapid growth in recent years. The company now employs approximately 60 bricklayers and laborers, a significant number of whom are local residents from Lawrence and Mercer Counties. This growth story not only signifies their success but also highlights their positive impact on the community by providing employment opportunities and supporting local residents.
We are so thrilled to have Tervo Masonry be one of our Founding Members and we look forward to introducing you to more members in the coming weeks!
