We post a lot about driveways, but did you know we do all types of dirt work?

These images are from a project we completed for a customer who initially requested an estimate for a retaining wall, believing that was the only option for the space between their house and property line. During our initial visit, we learned that what they really wanted was a sloping side yard in this area. With a bit of smooth operating, we were able to deliver on their vision!

We transformed this driveway with crushed asphalt last fall! Initially this customer wanted a small repair, but they ended up so impressed with the outcome that they decided to ditch their plans for asphalt paving and have us finish their driveway with crushed asphalt instead.

These photos show the progression from dirt drive ➡️ subgrade ➡️ base material (sand) ➡️ aggregate application ➡️ compaction and finishing for this beautiful quarter mile long driveway.

Our New Year’s Resolution? Sharing more of our projects to this page!

Leading us off is this driveway installation completed last year for a customer who was tired of dust and mud puddles but wary of the potential cost of a new driveway. We worked together to come up with a plan that would give them the upgrade they desired without breaking the bank. We removed the existing organic matter from the driveway area, created a sand base, and laid a crushed asphalt top, all while the homeowner was on vacation! They got to return home to a freshly rolled crushed asphalt driveway, solid enough for the grandkids to ride their scooters on.

A multi-day heavy lake effect snow event begins in earnest today. The heaviest snow today is expected this afternoon and evening. The snow will continue into both Friday and Saturday as well. The heaviest snow of the entire event looks to occur Saturday afternoon and evening. Storm total snowfall by Sunday may exceed a foot in spots near and west of U.S. Highway 131. Given the variable nature of lake effect snow (it occurs in bands), not everyone will see these totals. Be prepared for low visibilities, slippery travel and variable conditions over short distances. Slow down if travelling and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Apologies to all our followers for the lack of content and posts all summer….we have been blessed with a busy first year, but it’s been a learning curve trying to keep up with everything! Some pictures of a driveway we did this summer. On this driveway was an established but well-worn aggregate that needed to be completely regraded for a smooth sub-grade before being topped with a nice crushed asphalt.
