Had a service call yesterday. I was there a month or so ago. I was working on another circuit when I noticed the whole house surge protector at the panel that was currently there was not working. The indicator light was not on. I asked the customer if he noticed it. He said no. Like I said, I’ve been there a month ago or so and I did notice that it was on and working. Somehow, between then and now the surge protector had taken a hit and needed replaced. That old surge protector likely saved this man and his family thousands of dollars in replacement appliances and insurance claim headaches.
