Here's something I learned the hard way: ask questions before you assume the worst. That's how I run Advantage Roofing today — when something feels off with one of my people, I don't jump to conclusions, I ask questions until I find the real problem. I had a key office employee once who I thought was checking out on me. Turned out she wasn't lazy or ungrateful at all — she was just completely overloaded. Once I reduced her workload, she was right back to being one of my best. So maybe your boss is a slime ball, or maybe there's a real conversation you two haven't had yet. When you're trying to figure out if a roofer is legit, don't just take their word for it — make 'em prove it. Ask if they're RCAT licensed. Ask if they're BBB A+ accredited. Ask if they're Owens Corning Platinum certified, because very few contractors in East Texas earn that.
