Docks are out for the summer!

The calming sounds of loons during sunset on Memorial Day weekend.

Here is a timelapse clip I took of the storm that moved through Two Rivers on Sunday. Media reports that the storm included straight-line winds up to 80 mph. It’s devastating to see the loss of so many trees in the area.

This is a photo I took on a recent trip to London. It was one of those times when the strongest part of the photograph wasn’t the subject, but the direction.

What caught my eye was everything pulling toward one destination: the bridge ahead. The buildings help to guide the eye, the people create the motion, and the scene becomes more than just a city photo. It becomes a story about movement, purpose, and perspective.

Direction in photography has a way of quietly leading the viewer exactly where you want them to go.

I was recently looking back at a number of photos from last year, and this one caught my eye and made me smile! I almost didn’t take this photo that night. The weather was iffy, and I wasn’t certain the drive would be worth it. I still wasn’t sure even as I was setting up. But when the moon appeared on the horizon, I knew it was going to be a good night.

It was a quiet, moody, and cool dusk last night on Lake Michigan.

I'm still digging through last summer’s Scotland photos and realizing how many I've yet to share. Scotland is one of those rare places where every turn feels like a composition waiting to happen. The landscapes have a way of telling their own story without much effort behind the lens. From moody skies rolling over the Highlands to quiet details tucked into old villages, it’s a photographer’s dream.
