After a major storm like the one we just had, roofers start showing up everywhere. Some are great companies trying to help homeowners⌠and unfortunately, some are not.
We had a homeowner call us out today for an inspection. When we arrived, another ârooferâ was already there. He told the homeowner, âIâm here to inspect your property,â handed them paperwork, and said, âI just need you to put your information here.â
What the homeowner didnât realize was that the âinformation sheetâ was actually a contract.
While the homeowner was filling it out, the roofer was already inside the home âinspecting damage.â
PLEASE be careful who you deal with after a disaster like this.
There are a lot of honest, reputable roofing companies in our area â but there are also plenty of fly-by-night contractors looking to take advantage of homeowners during stressful situations.
Before signing anything:
⢠verify they are licensed with the Oklahoma construction industries board
⢠Do your research
⢠Verify the company is local and established
⢠Read paperwork carefully
⢠Check reviews and references
⢠Donât feel pressured into signing on the spot
Protect yourself and your home. A roof replacement is too important to trust to just anyone.
