Its peony season and I am just thrilled! The peony in this picture are freshly cut, but all the other flowers are over a week old!! Here are a few tips on how to get the longest life out of your cup flowers:
- Whether cut from your garden, or purchased in a store, flowers need to be processed. Strip extra leaves give them a fresh cut at a 45° diagonal then place them in a clean bucket of water, preferably with flower food and store them someplace cool and dark for several hours before designing.
-place your floral arrangements out of direct heat and sunlight
-change out your vase water daily
-Re-cut your stems every other day
-remove spent blooms immediately

Anemone and ranunculus ❤️ These beauties are a true labor of love and my 6B New England growing zone. I started them inside at the end of January and planted outside under protection mid/late March. The anemone are my favorite because they are rigorous growers! Every year I say I’m not growing ranunculus again because they just do poorly for me in my growing condition …But then I finally get a few blooms and I order more corms for next year.🤣🤪 ( ranunculus is the sole pink flower)

Feeling exhausted, a little overwhelmed, but mostly extremely grateful! My kids came and helped me in the garden today along with my husband for Mother’s Day, and we were able to get 2/3 of my dahlias planted out!🥰😅
