🚧 PROJECT PROGRESS | RAISED PAVER PATIO & RETAINING WALL 🚧

We’re getting close to wrapping up this raised paver patio and Autumn Blend retaining wall project! 🔨

The retaining wall is really starting to take shape, and we’re excited to see this outdoor space come together. We’ve been putting the proper preparation into the project from the ground up to ensure it’s built to last.

🔹 Next up:
• Finish backfilling behind the retaining wall
• Compact the backfill properly for long-term stability
• Continue preparing and compacting the base for the pavers
• Set and install the steps
• Finish prepping the patio area for the paver installation

Proper base preparation and compaction are critical when building a quality paver patio and retaining wall. We don’t cut corners on the work that you won’t see — because that’s what makes the finished product perform for years to come.

🧱 BUILDING IT RIGHT FROM THE GROUND UP! 💪

Another important step on our current raised paver patio & retaining wall project is getting the foundation prepared correctly before we ever set the first retaining wall block.

We’re installing approximately 6” of clean, compacted gravel base for the retaining wall. The base is being placed and thoroughly compacted to create a solid, stable foundation for the first course of retaining wall block.

Proper base preparation is critical to help prevent:

✅ Settling
✅ Shifting or leaning
✅ Uneven courses
✅ Frost-related movement
✅ Future wall failure

We’re also taking care of the drainage while we’re here. 💧

Our crew is burying the downspouts using 4” drainage pipe, carrying roof runoff away from the home and finished patio area. Getting the water controlled underground helps prevent erosion, standing water, saturated soils, and unnecessary stress on the new retaining wall and patio.

We’re currently transforming this property with a raised paver patio, matching walkway, and retaining wall system — built with both appearance and long-term performance in mind. 💪

This project includes:

🧱 Raised Paver Patio – Creating a clean, functional outdoor living space with a finished look that ties into the property.

🧱 Retaining Wall – Our retaining wall is being properly based and prepared from the ground up. We’re excavating to the required depth, establishing a solid compacted base, and building on a stable foundation to help prevent settling, shifting, and wall movement over time.

🚶 Matching Paver Walkway – A complementary walkway will connect the patio area and create a seamless transition throughout the property.

💧 Downspout Burials & Drainage – We’re also burying the downspouts and directing roof runoff away from the foundation and finished areas. Proper drainage is critical when installing patios and retaining walls, helping reduce erosion, water pooling, soil movement, and future settlement issues.

🚧 PROJECT WRAP-UP — APARTMENT COMPLEX POOL DEMOLITION | LEAVENWORTH, KS 🚧

Another project is coming to a close for LPS Welding & Construction LLC!

We’re wrapping up this apartment complex pool demolition and backfill project in Leavenworth, Kansas, with the final stages of finish grading, topsoil placement, fresh grass seed, and straw to restore the area and leave the property looking clean and ready for its next use. 🌱

During the excavation and demolition process, we also installed and maintained silt fence around the work area to help control sediment and prevent disturbed soil from washing off the site.
