To continue our recognition of our previous Hard Hat Champions of the Month, we would like to recognize Jon Underberg our February Hard Hat Champion of the Month.

Jon, a Local 81S Plumbers and Steamfitters third year apprentice (known by his peers as “Hot Dog”), joined our team in Syracuse 2.5 years ago as a first year apprentice.

We're recognizing him for the enthusiasm he brings to the job site – always working hard, exceeding expectations, and taking initiative. Respect and commitment are at the forefront of his work ethic, shown recently through his work at the Syracuse Airport and Onondago County Courthouse projects.

Thank you, "Hot Dog," for your contributions to our region and our team!

We recently teamed up with Local 22 and Local 71 to perform a helicopter lift to set 34 pieces of equipment onto the roofs of two separate schools.

The units, manufactured by Nortek Air Solutions and provided by JW Swanson, will provide heating and air conditioning to elementary schools in the Williamsville School District. They weighed upwards of 7,500 pounds each, and the total time to lift all 34 units was an impressive 1 hour and 36 minutes.

Earlier this month members of our team attended the American Heart Association Heart Ball in Rochester, N.Y. Our very own Ken Burns, Vice President of Operations for Central New York, and T.R. Casamento, Vice President of Sales for Central New York, had the honor of being co-chairs of the ball.

This event is a time to reflect on and celebrate the results of a year-round campaign to improve and save lives from heart disease and stroke. This year, Rochester raised over $300,000 to support the fight against the nation’s No. 1 killer, cardiovascular disease.

“We are honored to host an event with such profound meaning for Rochester,” said Ken Burns. “The Heart of Rochester campaign is proof of what’s possible when we stand together for a healthier tomorrow.”

“Our heartfelt thanks go to the guests, sponsors, and volunteers who stood alongside us to make this event possible,” said T.R. Casamento. “Your support helps the American Heart Association bring lifesaving heart and brain health education, research, and advocacy to Rochester. Together, we are creating a stronger, healthier community.”

Additionally, Thersea Hill, our Accounts Payable and Collections Manager, was recognized as the 2025 Rochester Leaders of Impact winner.

Our Ohio office recently completed a cooling tower replacement for Hikma Pharmaceuticals. We served as the general contractor and replaced three 1300-ton cooling towers and condenser piping.

This was a challenging project, starting in October and continuing throughout the cold Ohio winter into January. The team put in 10-hour days, as well as six consecutive days of 200-ton crane lifts, to complete the job safely and on time.

Further, the installation utilized Aquatherm polypropylene piping systems, which required specialized manufacturer certification. Our team is certified to install a number of unique piping materials suited for a variety of complex applications.

We are extremely proud of this high-quality project for the customer with numerous owner direct opportunities. Great work team!

To continue our recognition of our previous Hard Hat Champions of the Month, let's hear it for Garrett Yatteau!

Congratulations to Garrett Yatteau, our Hard Hat Champion of the Month for January.

Garrett has been an employee with us for most of his career. His desire to learn new things and take on challenging projects has allowed him to shine.

His mind works differently from most others. His ability to diagnose problems and develop highly articulate solutions sets him apart.

One of his greatest attributes is his genuineness. Beyond his technical abilities, Garrett’s integrity and respect for others make him someone you can trust on any job site.

He’s an asset to any crew and someone you can count on. Garrett always goes out of his way to say good morning and ask how everyone is doing. You cannot ask for a better employee than Garrett.

Thank you, Garrett, for being so personable and highly skilled as a plumber, pipefitter, and welder.

We wanted to recognize some of our previous Hard Hat Champions of the Month starting with Ian Davis.

Congratulations to Ian Davis, our December Hard Hat Champion of the Month! Ian has been part of the Danforth team for just about a year, joining us from the non union side, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have him.

His reliability, professionalism, and willingness to step up — especially when overtime calls — make a real difference. Ian played a major role in the DDSO roof demo, tackling a tough, dirty winter job with zero complaints and 100-percent commitment.

It’s dedicated team members like Ian who drive our success every day.

It is 518 Day - so we want to give a special shout-out to our Albany region!

Congratulations to Joe Watkins, our Hard Hat Champion of the Month for April.

Joe successfully completed his five‑year apprenticeship with the Local 81S Plumbers and Steamfitters as a proud member of the Danforth team in Syracuse. From day one he stood out for his dedication, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship.

After becoming a Journeyman in the summer of 2025, he contributed to multiple K‑12 school projects and most recently supported our team at the Onondaga County Aquarium. His commitment to doing little things right continues to set the standard on every jobsite.

Joe has a bright future ahead and has already expressed interest in stepping into a Foreman role on upcoming projects.

Thank you, Joe, for your hard work, professionalism, and dedication to the trade. Congratulations on this well‑deserved recognition.
