Septic disaster averted! Before we picked up the camera, the first lid was sitting about 4 inches above the riser on top of a mound of sloppy solids… luckily we were able to get it pumped back down before it made the kind of mess that we never want to see at any Sasquatch sighting. Electrical components are critical to keeping your system functioning like it should, and we always give everything a good once over when we perform a pumping service for just that reason. No one likes messy surprises, and while they make for interesting field footage, we’d still rather keep all the stuff you flush where it belongs! Electrical component tests and maintenance are a must, and you can always depend on a Sasquatch to solve and help prevent legendary problems like these!

Purchasing and installing an effluent filter for your septic tank is always a Sasquatch-recommended activity. Once they are in it’s easy to pull and clean them a couple times a year too. We know most of the folks we take care of do their best to keep wipes, applicators, grease, paper towels, and other foreign objects out of their tanks, and pump regularly to keep sludge levels down. Just the same, the unexpected still can get flushed, sludge can accumulate, and drain field maintenance should always be a priority when you live that septic life! These filters do a great job of keeping sludge and other floating objects from clogging and degrading your drain field and other costly components in your system. We also love keeping the bill for routine service as reasonable as we can, and we clean them every time we pump for you! If you’re brave you can install and maintain them yourself, but if you’d rather skip the dirty work, we will always do it for you! 💩🫈👍

Septic life isn’t all about dirty work for a Sasquatch—mostly, but not entirely. We also see a fair bit of funny, entertaining, interesting, and… well, there’re a few head scratchers we’ll say. Overall, we are pretty blessed to live and work in the beautiful area we do, and even with the occasional aroma issues, we love taking care of the communities and customers we serve. Gotta love that Pacific Northwest life we live!

What do good septic practices and Expensive chocolate have in common? Definitely not the recipe! A relatively thin and even dark crust on the outside, with a lighter layer of newer waste underneath that is obviously breaking down and settling just like it should, no bad additives like plastics, cotton, latex or wipes—and your local Sasquatch is stoked when we see the reveal… but that’s about where the commonality ends, still dirty work at the end of the day!

A little septic root removal to cap a Friday? Just another day at the office for Team Sasquatch! Just the same, root intrusion can really put a damper on your Sasquatch-sighting. Luckily these folks pump regularly and it keeps this tree from getting in too much trouble—it still made a fair bundle of roots in just a few years doing it’s best to tap into that effluent chamber though! If you have trees and shrubs close to your tanks and pipes, there are additives you can use, but when possible, keep the trees and shrubs 20+ feet away. Root removal can be a spendy problem that we don’t want any of the folks we help to have!

Septic trouble comes from lots of directions, and kitchen grease is definitely one you can take steps to minimize. Grease can cause trouble in drains, pipes, and once it makes its way into your septic tank and its components, the price of a Sasquatch sighting can go WAY up. Don’t dump cooking grease down your drains, and wipe your pots and pans before you wash them in the sink folks—Sasquatch will smile when you see him!

We always appreciate it when folks are doing their best to keep trees away from drain fields and tanks, but we aren’t usually on the job when it’s in process! This Sasquatch-sighting made for some fun visuals while we were working, and while we obviously love our trees—keeping them 20’ from your septic components keeps root intrusion out of those REALLY hard to reach places. Still makes what we drop look a lot smaller than usual doesn’t it? 💩 ⬇️✅😅

The tank was definitely full as it gets, but even though we didn’t get the fountain we expected, it’s a good thing that inlet and sewer line weren’t any more backed up than the trickle that we opened up—definitely good timing for a pump and a Sasquatch sighting!
