This gem in SE Portland was the first home to be built in the late 1800s and is one of the very last remaining original homes in the area. We are honored to have been entrusted by the owners to remove and replace the original flooring. Unfortunately, the original old growth clear vertical grain Doug Fir was at the end of its lifespan and could not be refinished. We opted to honor the home and install locally grown and milled Tan Oak, a native species unique to the PNW. The results are stunning.

A special project for some beautiful people. We had the privilege of restoring the floors at the Mora First Presbyterian Church established in 1877. A big special thank you to Jeremiah L Gonzales for trusting us with this project! We have been working in collaboration with Dan’s of Taos, NM and what a great family they are. Thank you for your trust and support as we continue to work together!

We just restored this clear vertical grain Doug Fir. The planks are from old high school bleachers. There were several planks that someone tried to repair with Pine, we removed those and were able to match it pretty close with some material we found at We also installed about 8 bow ties in order to salvage some of the original wood.

Finished up the final phase of this project. We started with the bedrooms, moved into the living room, and wrapped things up in the kitchen. We phased the work to make the process less invasive so our clients could comfortably continue living in the home throughout the project.

Every home and every client is different, and we always do our best to tailor the process to fit their individual needs.

Natty wood in a kitchen will always feel both charming and timeless. This 2 1/4” Red Oak plank was finished with a clear coat to let the natural warmth and character shine through. Can’t get more classic than that. 🤩
