Meanwhile the design for conversion of the white Dairy Barn at Warrior Canine Connection continues to proceed with more pressure to complete the project.
The completed conversion will provide much needed spaces.
We would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Fitzgerald's Heavy Timber Construction for their help today. Within hours, Dean Fitzgerald had an entire crew and heavy machinery ready to clean up debris. Buildings are replaceable but lives are not. We remain grateful that all humans and dogs are safe. While our operations were interrupted today, we are committed to continuing our mission of serving Veterans and their families.

Warrior Canine Connection
Highlights from Hard Hat Day! Thanks again to Associated General Contractors of America for your donation of $265,000 to assist in the restoration of our historic dairy barn, which when finished, will house so many important elements of our program.
Preparing a dairy barn for conversion into a training facility for dogs and humans. Our customer Warrior Canine Connection trains dogs and connects them with veterans in need.
Great machine, 23 years old yet still works great! Recently used with a hydraulic jack hammer to bust and remove the concrete floor from the 120' long dairy barn at Warrior Canine Connection. The skid steer it's back together and back to work at our sawmill.

Meadowcroft's Pine Bank Covered Bridge is the proud recipient of a 2018 Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Award from Preservation Pennsylvania!
Originally built in 1871, the bridge was rehabilitated in 2017 by Fitzgerald's Heavy Timber Construction with funding from Visit Washington County PA and Pennsylvania Trails of History. #PAPresAwards18 #Meadowcroft50

With the previous 80-year-old cabin beyond repair, the Hanover community came together to build a new handicap-accessible cabin.

The coming of Christmas and Santa Claus is much anticipated, especially in Hanover PA. The local news paper posted some of the children's artwork in their front windows for all to see. Visiting Santa's Cabin is a long tradition in this town, generations recall and look forward to the fun and excitement.
As Santa's deadline looms ahead, steady careful work helped us beet his deadline. The cabin building story continues...
'Santa's Cabin' construction moved into more of a 'detail phase' once the logs were assembled. In these pictures you'll see some of the next steps that might be hard to notice after completion... well except the staining of the logs....

For Santa's Cabin, new logs were selected and milled. The old trailer was repaired and upgraded. Santa's Cabin is only in the square of Hanover PA from Thanksgiving until the first of the year and so it has been on a trailer for decades. In these pics the new logs are being cut and fitted together as the new Santa's Cabin begins to take shape.
'Santa's Cabin' in Hanover PA. There has been a long standing tradition in Hanover that Santa visits the children in this cabin. We understand the cabin was donated to the community in the 1930's. The poor old cabin was suffering from rot and decay and through donations the community wanted to improve Santa's accommodations. Please stay tuned as more images will follow!
An interesting project to have seen at the building museum. One of their many displays that are temporarily set up on a seasonal rotation. Quite a challenge to sort our a precise system to layout and cut the thousands of pieces so they fit precisely, allowing a quick assembly on site.... Visit the Building Museum often, its changes regularly.
