In many cases, landowners try to save money by hiring an inexperienced grading company.

But they are left to discover later that the work was not done to proper construction standards and has to be fixed at a greater cost.

This house pad was at risk of failing inspection due to improper silt fencing, poor compaction, and inadequate drainage.

Situations like this are more common than many property owners realize, and we’ve seen this particular issue many times over the course of 25+ years in the grading industry.

Our team corrected the issues by stripping the pad down to raw soil and rebuilding it properly.

The pad was constructed in compacted lifts, adding and compacting a few inches of soil at a time to meet construction-grade specifications.

Once the rough final grade was established, we ensured water would drain away from the pad to prevent future problems.

We also replaced and properly installed the silt fence around the property so the site would meet code requirements.
