This is from a recent restoration project in Philadelphia repairing historic Wissahickon schist / Chestnut Hill stone.

This hands-on training introduces the fundamentals of traditional lime plaster repair used in historic restoration and professional building maintenance.

You’ll learn how plaster systems work, how to properly repair common wall damage, and get guided, real-world practice applying repair coats on mock wall assemblies.

Instruction includes direct support from experienced plasterers using professional lime plaster materials from LimeWorks.us.

Prior plastering experience is helpful but not required.

Glad that the LimeWorks.us Technical Install Team was able to get the Moland House Fireplace working again. The Historic Society does Period cooking as part of their interpretation of how this landmark entertained Lafayette, Washington and the Continental troops in the 1700’s.

The Restoring Historic Windows workshop, June 3–5, offers hands-on training in the full restoration process of windows and sashes, from removal and repair through finishing and reinstallation.

Participants gain practical, hands-on skills in historic window restoration, including sash work, cord repair, weatherization, wood repair with epoxies, safe paint and glazing removal, refinishing, tool use, and reglazing with glass replacement.
