A couple of weeks ago my trailer was rear ended while I was working on a job. Between the cost of repairs and the rental u-haul trailer Arbella Insurance chooses to pay more than half the value of the trailer to fix it. I'm now out of my "trailer" for the next 2-3 weeks. What they fail to understand is that this isn't a storage trailer, it's where I run my business. Being out of my workshop for almost a month is unacceptable for something totally not my fault, meanwhile all of my equipment is in a pile on the floor of a U-Haul while I make a trip back to my unit every other day because there's yet another tool or supply I don't have on site. For reference is a pic of how I run day to day and how I now run day to day until it's repaired.

To say this one was a grind is putting it lightly. We needed a second entry for fire escape purposes on the second floor apartment remodel. Safety is the number one priority in building.

I was called about this hump in the wall. After opening it up it was just as expected, 2 bowed studs right next to each other and right where the one piece tub is so the horrible bows in the got even worse because there was no attachment to the interior except at the top of the wall. They flexed so much I could put my fingers between the studs and the Sheetrock. Couple new studs, new plywood and new clapboard, looking great.

Some basement upgrading going on. Step one remove the old drop ceiling, frame everything down to get a plaster ceiling, and new recess lights throughout and give it a less basement feeling. Step two, tile base and real granite stone on the walls to give the new wood stove a place to live. More coming once the new unit is installed.

Finished up this beauty right before the big storm.

With everyone stuck inside all day you may not be thinking of your gas furnace or hot water heater exhaust. Take a second and check it out, it could save your life!! 99% of storms this is probably no issue, but I've got some 6-7 ft high drifts in my yard that I know could cover some pipes. Stay safe!

Nice little Presidents' Day project. New full row of cabinets replacing the single shelf that was placed there when the house was initially built. Topped off with a solid butcher block shelf the full width of the laundry area. All pieces of the counter are fully removable for any repair or replacement that may be needed on the machines.

Most days it's just work, but sometimes you to do special things. Taking logs cut down on the property to the sawmill, then taking what you get and turning into beautiful pieces is very rewarding. The floating shelves in the mudroom and over the kitchen sink as well as the wraparound mantle will enjoyed every day!
