As a figurative artist, I have painted the classical nude using watercolor, charcoal, and acrylic as my mediums throughout my life.

I have an innate instinct for painting the male and female forms, as I believe this attributes to growing up in the fitness industry with my father and participating in competitive sports. My paint brushes, however, weren't always in my hand. The rigor of writing academically and professionally quelled my painting for a period in my life. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a Master of Arts degree in communication, I recognized that personal narrative could easily occupy a place on canvas, which reawakened my innate desire to paint again. My love for figurative art and story emerged through the male and female subject. My paintings reveal mysteries that animate all of our lives. For me, the nude landscape is an infinite terrain for expression. I use vibrant hues and bold strokes to represent both the female and male subjects. These aesthetic effects create sensual dynamics and physicality to their forms, while invoking one's own person experiences. Figurative art is dependent on lines, shape, color, light, and emotion to create visual impact. Each of these elements has significant value and evokes an intimate voice that speaks to a myriad of interpretations.

"Art and the Spectacle of ALS"
One of my favorite creative interests is painting. I love figurative art. In fact, I’ve produced over 34 pieces, some remaining in my own personal collection and others sold to collectors. This genre of painting allows for an expressive landscape, which brings me to my painting, Morning Glory. Although my own landscape has changed as I have had ALS for 16 years, it has been a real challenge because of my medical bills, home care, and my supplies. This is my reason for raising funds; to help cover these costs. Prints are available for $60.
