Free advice. If your disposal makes no noise, not even humming, you can try pressing the red reset switch. This is an insinkerator model, yours may be different.
If your unit hums, you can use an Allen wrench and rotate the center shaft back and forth until it frees up.
Seals on disposals will go bad, and if yours is dripping out of the bottom it is time to replace.

Just in Home Depot, and as I was leaving a cashier stopped and asked if I was Dennis from Temple Terrace.
