Mitchell Pine Straw

A full semi load of our premium longleaf pine straw is 1,656 square bales, and for nurseries and retail lots that is the size we like to run. It comes with a trailer drop, so nobody is standing there waiting on your crew to unload. We carry square bales and round rolls, and we work with smaller orders depending on season and location. Delivery only, scheduled by phone. Request a quote at mitchellpinestraw.com/quote.

Loading Rolls heading to TN/Kentucky Line. Feels like a 110 degrees out here but customers come first.

Pine straw isn't a glamorous business. It's loaded trailers, early mornings, late nights, and showing up when we said we would. The folks we work with — most of them on first-name bases — don't ask for anything more than that. Clean straw, right count, on the day promised. We are not perfect by no means but we do care about our customers and their needs.

To anyone looking for a pine straw supplier in the Southeast, we'd be glad to talk. Reach out at [email protected] or mitchellpinestraw.com.

Running pine straw out of Sylvester means a lot of windshield time. Trucks rolling early, drivers checking in, customers calling in fresh orders.
What keeps it all moving isn’t fancy software or a big sales team. It’s showing up when we say we will, with clean straw, and the load count right.
We work mostly with retail locations, we have supplied directly and indirectly most large box stores, landscape contractors, property managers, and crews running multiple jobs at once. The ones who don’t have time to chase a delivery. Bulk orders, repeat routes, straight from South Georgia to wherever the next job is — Florida, Alabama, the Carolinas, Mississippi, Louisiana.
If you’re a contractor tired of guessing whether your straw shows up on time, give us a try. Wholesale orders welcome.

This Spring has been a strong one. Trucks have been running steady since February — landscapers, contractors,HOAs, College and Universities all stocking up before the heat sets in.
Now we’re rolling into summer prep mode. This is the window most folks forget about. Beds you straw now hold moisture better through July and August, keep root zones cooler, and cut back on watering. The pros plan ahead. Everybody else scrambles in September.
We’ve still got fresh, clean loads coming out of South Georgia all summer. Bulk orders, repeat routes, and reliable delivery across the Southeast — same as always.

Quick tip for landscapers running pine straw this season:
Don’t overdo the depth. Three inches is the sweet spot. Pile it any deeper and you trap moisture against the plant crowns and starve the roots of oxygen. Spread it thinner than that and weeds break through before the season’s over.
Fluff each bale before you spread. Pine straw locks tight in the bale and lays flat if you skip that step. A good fluff makes the same bale cover more square footage and look twice as good when you’re done.
Edge it clean. A crisp three-inch border between bed and turf is what separates a pro install from a homeowner job. Customers notice every time.

Most people don’t think twice about where pine straw comes from. They just see it laid out nice in a flower bed somewhere.
But there’s a whole operation behind it. Raking crews out in the fields before sunrise. Baling machines running all day. Trailers getting loaded and rolling out across the Southeast.
That’s our life down here in Sylvester, Georgia. Been at it a while now and still love the work. There’s something about watching a fresh load leave the yard knowing it’s headed to a job site where somebody’s putting it to good use.
Just a little window into what we do every day.
