This project was more than just a cosmetic upgrade. 👏

When we started, the header beam above this deck area was literally failing and being temporarily supported by a post just to hold it up safely.

We removed the damaged section, rebuilt the support properly, and completely transformed the space with a beautiful new composite deck surface that the homeowners can confidently enjoy for years to come.

🕷️ It’s not just rot hiding under your deck…

When we pull old deck boards, we don’t just find rotten wood — we uncover everything that’s been trapped underneath for years.
Moisture damage. Failing framing. And yes… sometimes some pretty wild spiders too. 😅

This is exactly why a proper deck resurface always starts with a full framing inspection.
We remove the old boards, inspect every joist, repair or replace what’s compromised, and only then install new decking — whether that’s pressure-treated wood or composite.

From the outside, this deck looked “fine.”
Underneath, it told a very different story.

If your deck is aging, soft in spots, or just hasn’t been checked in years, it might be time to take a closer look before small issues turn into big repairs.

This is a great example of what a simple, functional wood deck setup can look like.

This project included two small decks and a concrete landing, built with standard pressure-treated lumber. It’s a clean, straightforward design that gets the job done without unnecessary upgrades.

💲 Total cost: $7,800 before tax

That price includes:
• Removal of the existing decks
• Installation of both new decks
• New concrete pad
• Full disposal of all construction debris

Hey everyone — we’ve been a little quiet on here, but we’ve been staying busy.
I wanted to bring you along on day one of this project to show you what a deck resurface actually looks like.

Right now, the old deck boards are coming off, framing is exposed, and we’re inspecting everything and repairing what needs attention before any new material goes down.

You’ll see the material staged for this project — Everlast Infinity composite decking in the Tiger Cove finish — along with plans for a privacy wall and picket-style railing once the surface work begins.

This is the behind-the-scenes part most people never see, but it’s one of the most important steps in a quality resurface.

👉 We’re turning this into a mini-series, so I’ll be bringing you along with updates as the project progresses.
