A lot of people ask why we take the extra time to install joist tape before laying the decking. Here’s why:

✅ Extends the life of the framing – Water sits on top of joists after every rain. The tape creates a waterproof barrier that helps prevent moisture from soaking into the wood.

✅ Reduces rot and decay – The top of a joist is the first place to deteriorate because screw holes and standing water allow moisture to pe*****te. Joist tape helps protect those vulnerable areas.

✅ Protects fastener penetrations – While screws still go through the tape, it seals tightly around them, reducing water intrusion.

✅ Less chance of squeaks – The tape creates a barrier between the framing and decking, which can help minimize wood-on-wood movement over time.

✅ A small investment that pays off – It adds a little cost today but can add years to the life of the deck structure, especially in areas that get frequent rain.

We believe the things you can’t see are just as important as the finished product you can. That’s the difference between building a deck that looks good today and one that still performs years down the road.

Another big step forward!

✅ Exterior painting is complete.
✅ The porch, railings, columns, and trim have been professionally stained, giving the home a beautiful, refreshed look.
✅ All materials have been delivered and staged on site.
✅ Foundation posts are set, and we’re ready to begin framing the new deck and outdoor living space.

George House Update 🏠

Custom knotty alder cabinets are installed, and staining is underway. The natural wood grain is coming to life and looks incredible. We’re excited to see the finished product as this project continues to take shape.

Second floor is framed, loft deck is down, and walls are going up inside the hangar. Open-concept layout with room for a lounge, office space, and future finishes. Big progress this week and the vision is starting to show. 🔥

🏡 Jorge’s house is moving forward the right way.

Sometimes doing things right means going back and correcting what wasn’t done properly the first time. We tore out and reworked framing issues to make sure this home is built solid from the inside out.
