“When are you going to be at the farmers market?!” The short answer is sometime in July through October.

It’s no secret that Minnesota spring had a weird start. We grow our flowers in low tunnels outside, while it does give us a leg up, it’s not the same as high tunnels and a heated green house (adding those to my wish list)🫣😂 but for now you’ll have to wait for our mid summer blooms. This heat and rain combo has been just what we needed. We are excited to see all the familiar and new faces at the Staples farmers market this season! We have plans over the next few summers to offer you more, earlier. Until then, make sure to go check out all the other vendors at the Staples Lakewood Farmers Market every Thursday👩🏽‍🌾🌾 Here are some sneak peaks! See anything you recognize?

The 2025 flower season has ended but behind the scenes… we’re busier than ever. We cannot believe how successful our first year was. We are endlessly thankful to all of you!! So soo grateful. Most of the support we received was from strangers (the coolest strangers of course). We loved meeting all of you. You wont be seeing us till next spring but we will be coming back bigger and better! I think you’re gonna love what 2026 brings!

The great task of digging and dividing dahlias has begun!! We love to watch them multiply. 1 single Gabbies Wish dahlia tuber went in last spring and 15 tubers came out is fall. 1 tuber = 1 plant. You can see why we love dahlias. But digging and dividing is my least favorite part of the job. It is a time consuming and time sensitive task. Half way there! Tulips have found soil this week also. We have installed three low tunnels!! We have added many more rows, plastic is down and we are almost ready to close the 2025 Mother Root Gardens chapter. We have some seriously cool flowers coming next spring. I’m not ready to spill any beans but we know you’re gonna love it. You really can grow a lot of cool things in a small space🌸🤘🏼STAYED TUNED PALS.
