Equipment Spotlight: Compactor

You can find one of these on most of our job sites. Anytime we disturb the ground or put down gravel, it needs to be properly compacted before the work can move forward.

These compactors vibrate to pack down soil and gravel in trenches and tight work areas, creating a solid, stable surface for the work that comes next.

Employee Spotlight: Levi Berry

Levi Berry is a laborer on our Water Team and has been part of Bommarito Construction for 8 years. He started his construction career with Bommarito as a journeyman, gaining hands-on training and experience as he transitioned into a laborer.

For Levi, one of the best parts of the job is that no two days are exactly the same. Every job gives him the opportunity to work alongside different trades, meet new people, and learn something new along the way. "At Bommarito, there are always opportunities to learn something new if you're willing to be taught and willing to show interest in learning new things."

After 8 years in the industry, Levi has learned that being prepared and staying aware can make all the difference on a job site. “Always keep your head on a swivel; I try to be prepared for at least three days ahead of what I am doing on the job site.”

When he's not on the job site, Levi spends his time with family and friends, bow hunting, camping, floating, and finding new places to explore with his family.

Equipment Spotlight: Saw Cut Services

Our crews are often working throughout neighborhoods and along main roads, using pavement cutting equipment to access the water mains beneath the roadway.

To minimize pavement disturbance, our pavement saw makes precise cuts through the asphalt, creating a controlled work area for water main replacement. The saw is supplied by a water tank on the truck that keeps the blade cool while cutting and helps reduce dust during operation.

A clean cut is the first step in reaching the infrastructure below. Our saw cut services are the first step in every water main replacement project.

Equipment Spotlight - PipeDiver

This piece of equipment might look unusual, but it plays a major role in helping prevent future water main breaks. The PipeDiver is a specialized inspection tool that travels through large water mains to identify potential issues before they become major repairs.

The tool is inserted directly into the water line and moves through the pipe using the existing water pressure. As it travels, it collects data and records video from inside the pipe, detecting issues like leaks, corrosion, damaged wire wraps, and other signs of deterioration that can’t be seen from the surface.

Technology like this helps crews stay ahead of failures, make targeted repairs, and keep critical infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.
