With the upcoming severe weather coming ❄️❄️❄️, here are a few things you can do to prepare!

⚠️ Your Hayward pool equipment will automatically switch into Freeze Protect mode. This allows the pool to run as needed to keep the water flowing until temps get above freezing.

⚠️ If your pool is older, DO NOT turn off the pumps, run the pumps so water keeps flowing. Remember, running water does not freeze. When temperatures get above freezing you can return to your regular schedule. Make sure to run any water feature pumps as well

⚠️ Drain any sprinkler systems and backflow preventers. You can do this by turning the screws on the side to the horizontal position and covering up the device to protect it from the freezing temps!

❗❗❗In the event of a POWER OUTAGE, follow the steps below to protect your pool equipment:
• Turn off all pool equipment breakers. Even if your power is off, you must still turn off all breakers that supply power to your swimming pool equipment.
• Open the air relief on your filter, and remove the drain plug on the bottom of the filter.
• Open the inline chlorinator and let it drain down.
• Turn off auto-fill and make sure the feed line is wrapped.
• Open the salt cell to remove any water inside the pipe.
• Remove the lids of check valves to keep them from cracking.
• Unplug and remove your salt chlorine generator cells from the system if you’re able, if not, open the salt cell to remove any water inside the pipe
• Pumps, filters and chillers all have drain plugs near the bottom that you can open to drain out any water from the equipment.
• Remove lids from pumps and leave them off until weather has improved.

Once power is restored, check pool systems to ensure nothing is frozen, reinstall drain plugs, pump lids, turn on breakers, and restart your pool system.
