Here's a before-and-after transformation of an entry deck we completed this week.

The homeowners had only been in their new home for a few weeks when they decided the outdated front deck had to go. Now, instead of being greeted by a worn, aging structure, they come home to a beautiful, low-maintenance deck that enhances both the look and value of their home.

Next up on their renovation checklist: a new front entry door to complete the transformation.

Whether it's a large custom deck, an interior renovation, or a small exterior upgrade, we're incredibly grateful for every homeowner who trusts us with their biggest investment. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your home's story.

Deck prep matters—more than most people realize.

Skip the proper flashing and you’re not just risking your deck—you’re risking your home. This deck wasn’t installed correctly, and it led to major rot damage underneath, costing the homeowner thousands in repairs.

Build it right the first time—your home depends on it.

“🚨 Deck season is HERE 🚨

This week we’re giving this outdated farmer’s porch a serious upgrade—installing new 6x6 wrapped posts, upgrading to tongue-and-groove PVC decking, and replacing the old lattice with clean vertical PVC skirting (plus a hidden access door for a finished look).

Here’s where we’re at so far while we wait on the final decking materials to arrive 👀

Hey everyone,

I see a lot of posts from people unhappy with how their pressure-treated decks turn out, so I want to clear something up:

Pressure-treated and composite/PVC decks are not the same type of product.

Yes—they’ll both give you a solid, long-lasting deck. But the finish is completely different.

Pressure-Treated (PT):
This is construction-grade material. It’s the most affordable option, which is why it’s still widely used. But it’s rough—knots, splinters, cracks, and movement are all normal.

Years ago, you might’ve seen cleaner PT lumber. Today, with how fast it’s produced, the quality is rougher than it used to be.

To make PT look like a “finished” product would require a ton of sanding and labor—which just isn’t realistic for most builds.

Composite/PVC:
This is a manufactured, finish-grade product.

Think of it like outdoor flooring. It’s smooth, consistent, no splinters, no sealing, and far less maintenance overall. What you see is what you get.

Bottom line:
PT isn’t a cheaper version of composite—it’s a different material altogether.

If you expect PT to look and feel like composite, you’re going to be disappointed.
