With fall approaching, your lawn is entering its peak recovery season here in Massachusetts. Summer heat and foot traffic pack down the soil, making it hard for roots to breathe, but aerating creates small channels that open up immediate access to oxygen, water, and nutrients. When combined with overseeding while the soil is still warm, the fresh grass seed drops right into those aerated holes for ideal seed to soil contact, giving it a head start to grow thick, crowd out spring weeds, and come back vibrant green next year.
