GENERATORS kill people every year. Carbon Monoxide poising can be avoided with these simple rules..

How far away from the house does a generator need to be?
In most cases, generator distance from property line should be at least 5 feet; Your unit should be at least 18 inches from your home; and. Keep at least 5 feet between your generator and any doors and windows to prevent fumes from entering your rooms.

For those of you that have AIR COOLED whole home generators, be cautious of continually running it. Every year we see many of these types of generator burn out simply do to heat.

Water and Electricity don't mix.
If your property does flood DO NOT use the power when it comes back on. Turn off your main breaker. This prevents further damage, risk of shock, and starting a fire.

Be safe, be carful, be smart, be aware, and lets get thru hurricane Ida.
