We just dropped our June "What We Are Seeing" video — and this month hits different when you look at it through a custom home builder's lens.

Here's what most people won't tell you: 193 building permits pulled year-to-date, $124M in construction activity, and new construction median sitting at $385,500 (up 5.3%). That's the real story.

The overall market — $339,900 median, 859 pending sales (up 75.7%), inventory down 30.5% to 1,531 — supports what we're already seeing every single day.

Another incredible homesite has found its new owners! 🏡

This journey was a great reminder that buying land isn’t just about finding an empty lot—it’s about finding the right place to build your future.

We walked the land, talked about all the feaures and benfits - all details behind the scenes, continued to explore and compare other options, and in the end, came right back to this beautiful 2.3-acre homesite surrounded by mature trees.

Sometimes the right property simply feels like home.

For the past 23 years, Larry and I have been blessed to help families buy land, design custom homes, remodel existing homes, and make some of life’s biggest decisions righ here in South Dakota.

Every home we build has a name. And it's never ours.

Honestly? Marketing isn't our thing. We'd rather just put on our tool bags, sharpen our pencils, and get to work.

But every once in a while we feel like we need to say this out loud.
We're not dressing up to show you a couple homes, or paint colors, flooring samples under ring lights and calling ourselves builders and Real Estate Agents. And we're not grabbing a plan from the lumber yard and building the same house over and over calling it "custom."

This isn't a dream job for sexy appeal. This is real life. Right here. In homes.

Truly custom starts with a real conversation. Digging in. Listening. Learning how you live, what you need, what keeps you up at night about this decision. Then sketching. Drafting. Driving around looking at land. Visiting acreages. Planning ideas together.
