We ran out of room for the dirt about 200 tons ago. Just one of the finer details of dirt work. 😂
We had the privilege of digging a foundation for a new home when we hit plastic clay. When you run into clay like that, you can’t just build on top of it and hope for the best. We had to over-dig until we reached suitable material so the foundation has a solid, stable base.

That meant a whole lot more dirt to move, but this is one of those things you do right the first time. We put in the extra work now to help keep the homeowners from dealing with settlement problems down the road.

We’re waiting on the foundation walls to be poured, then we’ll be back to backfill everything, clean it up, and get it ready for the flat work.

We’re thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this project and appreciate every customer who trusts us with their dirt work. If you need 1,400 tons of dirt, we know a guy. 😅😂

God is good, and we’re grateful to keep the machines moving. 👊🏼

We’ve been BUSY over here at BDC! 😮‍💨
We’ve had a lot going on behind the scenes, which means our page has been a little… WELL NEGLECTED.

So consider this your warning:

Now, onto this one…
This homeowner had concrete in their driveway with grooving they just weren’t happy with. So we tore it out, cleaned it up, and regraded the driveway smooth and ready for the next step — new concrete.

She ain’t pretty yet, but the dirt work’s done. 👌🏼

We’re thankful for the work, thankful for our customers that become more like family, and most of all, thankful for the God who continues to provide. 🙏🏼

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱! This backyard was so steep it was hard to mow and even harder to enjoy. There wasn’t much flat ground to actually use.

So we brought in fill dirt, reshaped the entire backyard, and gave these homeowners a yard they can finally enjoy. We finished it off with grass seed, and we’ll be back this fall to touch it up and help it come in thick and healthy.

Sometimes the biggest difference isn’t what we build… it’s giving people back a part of their property they thought they’d never really enjoy. 👏🏼

Every project has to start somewhere, and on this one, the first step was making sure 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀, 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 could actually get to the build site.

We started by 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵, then built a 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆 that’ll handle everything that’s about to roll in. This is just 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟭, with a lot more work still to come on this property.

The best part? We get to be involved from the ground up.

💧 That squishy spot next to the house isn’t normal.
You know the one…
The spot that’s still wet three days after it rains. The mulch keeps washing away. The mower leaves ruts every time you drive over it.

That’s usually not a grass problem… it’s a water problem.

On this one, we buried two downspout lines and got that water moving away from the house where it belongs. Sometimes the simplest fixes make the biggest difference.

If you’ve got standing water, soggy spots, washouts, or drainage that’s driving you crazy, don’t keep mowing around it. Let’s fix the problem instead.

📸 And before somebody has the thought… yes, the yard was muddy. 😂 We caught one of the few dry windows Mother Nature decided to bless us with, and we’d rather come back for the final touch-up than tear the yard up trying to force it.

First, we stripped everything down to a solid starting point. Then we brought in rock, fine graded the area, and compacted everything to build a solid subgrade for the concrete crew.

That’s the stuff you never see… but it’s what helps make the finished project turn out right.

We’ve had the opportunity to work alongside a great concrete contractor lately, and it’s been a great partnership. So if you’re planning a patio, sidewalk, driveway, or slab, we’d be happy to get the site ready and point you toward someone we trust to finish it off.

🚜 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭.
If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been… we’ve been dodging rain drops. 🌧️😂

Seems like every week Mother Nature gives us just enough time to get rolling before she sends another storm. That’s construction life. You work with it, not against it.

This job was all about getting the groundwork right for a new walkway and patio.

We stripped out the grass and unsuitable material, graded everything to the proper elevation, then brought in and compacted rock to build a solid subgrade for the concrete crew.

It may not be the flashy part of the project, but it’s what keeps the finished product from settling, cracking, and becoming a problem later on.

This one came together NICE.🔥

We came in and built a solid 20x20 pad for a future shop, extended the driveway back to it, built up an area for the dumpster to sit on, and then finished it off by refreshing the existing driveway.

Now instead of just having an idea for a shop…
they’ve got the groundwork in place and ready to go. 👊🏼

We also always appreciate the opportunity to help repeat customers again. Being called back for more work means a lot to us and never goes unnoticed. 🙌🏼

That’s the kind of stuff we enjoy doing — taking a property and making it more functional, more usable, and setting it up the right way from the start.

We’ve been able to come back for multiple projects now, which always means a lot to us. Being called back says more than anything else.

This time we built out a new driveway leading back toward the shop, brought in fresh material, and shaped everything to make it clean, usable, and built to hold up. 🙂

We also took care of drainage by extending the sump pump line away from the house and cleaned up the front yard—filling low spots and covering exposed rock to give it a smoother, more finished look.

That’s the goal with every job—
make it work better, look cleaner, and set it up to last. 🙌🏼
