Day two usually looks like this.

Everything is out. Cabinets off the walls. Old counters stacked by the door. Maybe some surprise plumbing behind the sink wall that wasn't on any drawing.

This is the part people don't see in the finished photos — and it's the part that matters most.

How the rough work is done determines how the finish looks, how it holds up, and whether you'll have problems in five years. We don't rush this phase. We don't cover up what we find. If there's moisture behind the drywall or a wire that wasn't supposed to be there, we stop and tell you before we move forward.

Right now we're working on a kitchen in the Shrewsbury area. Client hasn't seen the space since demo day. They will next week, and it's going to look completely different.

That's the job.

Central Massachusetts doesn't have a mild climate. It has a punishing one.

Temperatures swing from 5°F in February to 95°F in August. Humidity goes from bone dry in winter heating season to saturated in July. That range — that full swing — is what tests your kitchen materials every single year.

Solid wood cabinet doors expand and contract. Budget MDF swells near sinks and dishwashers. Certain countertop adhesives fail when slab edges see freeze-thaw cycles near exterior walls.

This is not a scare tactic. It's what we see in Shrewsbury, Grafton, and Northborough kitchens after 10–15 years when the wrong materials were used.

When we spec a kitchen, we're choosing for the climate, not just the catalog. That's a small thing that makes a large difference a decade from now.

DM us a photo of your current kitchen and I'll tell you what to watch for.

There's a version of your kitchen where you're not working around the layout. Where the counter space actually matches how your family cooks. Where guests don't pile up at the bottleneck between the island and the fridge.

That version is closer than you think — and it doesn't require moving.

We've done kitchens like this for families in Weston, Sudbury, Wayland, and Westwood. Open-concept conversions. Island additions. Full cabinet replacements that change how the whole room feels.

If you can picture what you want but don't know what it costs or how long it takes, that's exactly where we start. Reply with your town and I'll tell you what's realistic.

Most kitchen remodels go over budget for one reason: decisions made in the wrong order.

The finish — the tile, the cabinet doors, the hardware — is the last thing to decide. Not the first. Layout, structural changes, and plumbing moves are where real money gets spent, and where surprises hide.

In Needham, Newton, and Weston, we see full kitchen remodels ranging from $40k for a clean mid-range update to $80k and beyond when walls come down and everything moves. Those numbers are real. Anyone quoting you $15k for a full remodel is leaving something out.

Swipe through. This is what we walk every client through before a single cabinet is ordered.

If you're planning for this fall or next spring, now is the time to start the conversation — not after the summer rush.

Around here, the best stretch for exterior painting is right now and it only lasts a few weeks.

In the warm, dry weeks the paint cures the way it should and the job moves without weather delays. Those are also the weeks that book up first, so the exterior you wanted “done before fall” starts in June, not September.

We’re scheduling exterior paint jobs in Shrewsbury and across MetroWest this month.

Seven Pines began with painting careful, honest work, one house at a time.

Word got around and homeowners started asking for more: the trim, the kitchen, the bathroom. That’s how we grew, but we kept the part that built us showing up when we say we will, and standing behind the work after the last coat dries.

Family-owned, here in Shrewsbury, with our name on every wall.

We don’t get to decide if we did a good job the homeowner does.

This one came in after a repair and paint job: a crew that was on time, detail-oriented, and professional, with nothing left half-done. That’s the reputation we’ve been building in Shrewsbury since 2016, one home at a time.

Reviews like this matter to us more than any ad ever could.

Wood needs respect before it needs paint. 🎨🏡

Transforming a wood-heavy space requires a completely different technical approach than a standard drywall room.
