It's planting day, so you get to see the mess. But I'm really excited about this special space.
The saucer magnolia in the center and the rhododedron grove were the priority. We kept the low wall made with cool narrow midcentury brick and added concrete pads and a natural edge flagstone path. My favorite - a mix of old and new! And lots of plants to create an oasis feel for their new hot tub.

I haven't done pots in a while, but this sage green house with the red door and red pots was extra fun.

I remember I had to talk the homeowner into adding this granite boulder. She's ALL about the plants so didn't get why we'd take up space with a big rock. I promised it would anchor the space and provide opportunity for plants to pop up in front or peak out from behind. It worked! It gives this corner a sense of permanence and she's happy with her rock.
