A new arbor frames the entry while a dry streambed and flagstone detail cut across the path and front garden.

A brand new back garden ready for a sofa and fire pit / coffee table. A mix of new concrete entry and patio with paver details to delineate the spaces. The pot with a Tiger Eye sumac acts as both a welcome and screen. Scroll through to see the before image. An uneven patio made from broken concrete and a giant leyland hedge that made the space feel cramped an dark. We reused the basalt dish rock and added lighting.

A fun idea that took hold. I'm always thankful for clients that are willing to have a bit of fun.
Ceramic blue glazed fish add movement and color next to the dry streambed. A mix of grasses and ferns add texture.

And now Cindy Funes | Garden Revelry 's gorgeous planting!
She had an exstensive collection of plants to start, so this project was quite different. We had to figure what to keep and what to let go. We moved a lot and added a lot - all while keeping composition, color, shape and form in mind. Most importantly we had a blast and I'm thrilled with the results!

Another opportunity to partner with an uber talented designer! This time, the owner of Cindy Funes | Garden Revelry . We transformed her back garden from a staging ground for plants to a serene space for gathering and relaxing with friends and family. A new paver patio with swooping curved borders, a semi-circular sofa hugged by one of these curves (the patio dimensions were designed specifically for this gorgeous sofa) and a gas fireplace by Matt Roberts. We also added a shed by . We transplanted many of her existing (interesting!) plants and added more to tie it all together. I'll make a separate post sharing some of her fabulous container designs and the shed. Thank you Cindy!!

Magic hour at this talented gardener's home. I was lucky to have the opportunity to help design this front garden. New concrete and gravel paths, expanded wood entry and breeze block accent panels. The tomatoe Dutch front door adds a pop of color and cheery welcome. Pot groupings and lighting tie it all together. I LOVE seeing the mix of color and texture in the plantings! Such a fun collaboration.

Planting day on this special project. A sloped front garden is transformed into 3 tiers. Access to the sidewalk is brought in at a 45 degree angle. A plant palette of green, white and light pink soften the new retaining walls. Upturned pots act as place holders. We have to wait until fall / winter for 6 dwarf camellias. This one has been a long time coming! I'll be sure to show it complete with before photos.
