My first resin piece, just over a year in the making. Every rock, shell, piece of driftwood and agate was handpicked along the northern CA and southern Oregon coasts. A heartfelt gift for someone special.
Finishing the back, then on to sanding the face, adding clock numerals and mechanism, and the final pour.

Watching my favorite flower farmers lose their dahlias over the past couple of days to a hard freeze hurts my heart. A few of my dahlia’s leaves took frost damage, but the cloth bought my little patch several extra days of blooms. This weekend, I’ll gather flowers for a vase, then hand the steering wheel back to Mother Nature. 🌸

Sound up. 🌲 Standing in the middle of the forest, listening to the wind while the towering trees sway above you… beautiful, but a little freaky. You suddenly feel very small—and very aware of what’s overhead. 👀

Another pile of firewood rounds split today, and just one more to go, at least until the last pile of trees gets bucked up. Clearing this space is hard work, but every pile brings me one step closer to planting the dream. Trading wood piles for flower beds, one round at a time.

Tall dahlias, frost coming, and a little improvising! This is my last hurrah to give the varieties that haven’t bloomed one more chance to open their buds. Now my dahlia tables look like ghosts haunting the forest. Come on, babes—show me what you’ve got!
