Yesterday, we had the honor of helping Veteran #177.
When this Navy veteran first reached out to us, she was simply asking for help repairing the roof on her camper. Wanting to understand exactly what was needed, L.O.V. reached out to Ranger Rich to take a look.
After inspecting it, Rich reported back with heartbreaking newsโthe camperโs roof needed a full replacement, the flooring was soaked, and water had reached the electrical lines. The cost to repair it would far exceed the value of the camper itself.
After careful consideration, L.O.V.โs Board of Directors made the decision that our resources would be better spent helping this family of three find a safe, reliable replacement camper rather than trying to salvage one beyond repair.
We want to take a moment to recognize and thank Ranger Rich for the incredible amount of time, effort, and heart he poured into helping this family. He spent countless hours researching options, checking out prospects, hauling the new camper to his home to ensure the roof was properly sealed, and then delivering and setting it up at their campground site.
Simply put, L.O.V. would be lost without Ranger Rich. His dedication, compassion, and willingness to serve make him an invaluable part of our mission.
We also want to thank Dave Faherty for helping share this story and for shining a light on the work being done through our mission.
