Hello beautiful people! I know it’s been a little while since I made a post or shared anything from my Instagram but, I just wanted to give y’all an update!
First, no… I’m not closing my business but I have taken a break! I knew it was going to be a hot one for August plus I didn’t have many options for events this month so I decided to put my new van in the shop (story time for another day 😒) and they had it for THREE WEEKS 😑 and she still has more work to be done 😭 anyway, I guess it was good that I didn’t have any events lol…
I am also thoroughly burnt out… when I lost my job last July, I threw myself into my business… every weekend HAD to have an event and it didn’t matter if it was a good tried and true event or a crappy one, I showed up and tried my best… but, it really isn’t like it was when I first started doing events 🥴 understandably so but it is the nature of this business… the same event could be amazing for one vendor and totally suck for another… you just never know! 🤷🏻♀️
On top of being burnt out, I have been missing me… my craft (witch and other) has suffered and I started getting back to me again… doing makeup again, making TikTok’s, unboxings… and, the biggest thing, seeking jobs within the retail beauty space. I miss working for Sephora and it was never the same after the pandemic 😞 it was a completely different time and I miss it… I know that whatever I find won’t take the place of that but I hope to be working in the makeup industry again soon… I’ve had promising interviews and I’m hoping that a change is coming!
So, with all of that said, you’re going to see less of me at events but NOT less of my business in general! I will still be taking custom orders, promoting my website, posting where I’ll be and, now that I have my van back, updating my booth at Local Style in Hattiesburg! I have upcoming events that I will definitely be honoring (especially since I paid for them and will lose that money lol) so stay tuned for that!
I am also hoping and planning that with the extra income, we can pay off some debts and, instead of renovating our car port and garage, that we can purchase a prefabricated building for my storefront and workshop instead! This makes more sense and will be easier in the grand scheme of things!
When I’m off, the shop will be open and ran by me but, when I’m working, I will (hopefully) have a trusted friend run the shop in my absence! Either way, I will have a storefront in Seminary eventually! 😊
